Lauren Smith to provide Alabama law update

Lanier Ford attorney Lauren Smith will be providing the Alabama Law Update as part of the CLE Alabama program scheduled for Friday, December 3, 2021, in Birmingham.

Among other topics, Ms. Smith will be addressing—

1. Alabama Act No. 2021-4, which provides civil immunity in lawsuits involving COVID-19.

2. Alabama Act No. 2021-493, which prohibits the issuance of COVID-19 vaccine passports and prohibits government bodies, educational institutions, and businesses from requiring vaccinations as a condition for providing services.

3. Alabama Act No. 2021-561, which allows employees to claim an exemption from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination required by an employer.

4. Governor Ivey’s Executive Order No. 724, which ordered that state government agencies cooperate with the Alabama attorney general in opposing the vaccinate-or-test mandate of the Biden Administration.
