Mr. Ledyard represents defendants in many types of civil litigation. Much of Mr. Ledyard's practice is devoted to insurance defense matters and the spectrum of legal services sought by insurance carriers. He assists insurance carriers with coverage opinions, case evaluations, legal analysis, and defense of the carrier's insureds. In addition, Mr. Ledyard represents insurance carriers in bad faith cases, declaratory judgment actions, and other direct claims. Serving as lead counsel for insurance carriers, corporations, and individuals, Mr. Ledyard has handled a wide variety of cases including bodily injury and wrongful death (highway construction, cars, tractor-trailers), commercial litigation (contracts, trade secrets, non-competition agreements) fraud and misrepresentation (car sales, commercial equipment, consumer products, business contracts), breach of warranty (consumer products), and product liability (cars, booms, timber equipment, and other types). In addition to trying cases as lead counsel, Mr. Ledyard has resolved hundreds of claims through mediation and direct negotiation. As local and North Alabama counsel for a number of national and regional insurance carriers and other corporations, Mr. Ledyard has successfully concluded numerous claims before commencement of litigation. Mr. Ledyard is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Alabama) and all Alabama state courts.
