Mr. Kobler focuses his practice in the area of intellectual property, representing a wide variety of clients in diverse intellectual property matters. He has prosecuted U.S. and international patent applications involving electronic and electro-mechanical devices and methods, including communications and radar systems, digital signal-processing systems and methods, and software. He has obtained registration for company trademarks and authored protection policies for company trademarks and trade secrets. He has also conducted infringement, validity, and patentability analyses. In addition, Mr. Kobler has represented clients in litigation of trade-secret misappropriation and in patent, trademark, and copyright infringement. He has also negotiated and drafted patent and software licensing agreements.

Other Experience

  • From 1986 to 1995, Mr. Kobler served in the United States Navy as a F-14 flight officer. He flew six combat missions in support of Operation Desert Storm, as well as provided radar and weapons systems training for his entire squadron.
  • Since 1995, he has served as a commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve, assigned to the Office of Naval Intelligence. In this capacity, he performs and manages the performance of aerodynamic studies of foreign weapons systems and constructs computer models of missiles for use in simulations.
