Profile
Mr. Mooty's practice is centered on general civil litigation. He currently represents businesses
and individuals in a variety of tort- and contract-based disputes. He has handled contract disputes
for business clients through the arbitration process. As a litigator, Mr. Mooty is experienced in a
number of different litigation areas—including commercial, construction, fraud, insurance,
personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, and real estate.
Mr. Mooty has worked on cases involving health-care litigation, including the representation
of health-care providers and professionals. He has also worked on legal issues involving the
construction and interpretation of contracts, including advising corporations about their insurance
polices and liability exposure.

- In 2001, Mr. Mooty was awarded a full academic scholarship from the University of Alabama
Forensics Council to compete in speech competitions across the country. As a result, in his final
semester of law school, Mr. Mooty was asked to teach two sections of public speaking (COM 123)
in the College of Communication and Information Sciences.
